WSIB AND PRIVATE LIABILITY INSURANCE

When hiring a company to complete restorations on your home it is important to think about insurance and liability. Most homeowners don’t realize that they are liable if a contract worker is injured on their property. That is why is it very important to research the company that you plan to hire and make sure that they are not only fully insured, but also properly trained.

Tresham Painting is fully compliant with WSIB and will provide a clearance certificate, which is proof that our account is current and premiums have been paid.

Tresham Painting also carries a 2 Million dollar liability insurance certificate and can add your home or business location as an additional insured at no additional cost to you.

All employees at Tresham Painting just completed the new Training at Heights and Whimis programs offered by LEC Safety Training in Toronto. The Ministry of Labour just hired 500 new inspectors for 2017 and the blitz to visit your worksite will be on this spring. Workers will be required to produce their training cards and be able to explain basic fall protection and ladder safety procedures to the inspectors. Fines will be written for General Contractors, Subcontractors, Employees and Homeowners when workers do not have the required training under the occupational health and safety act. Due to over 100 worker deaths in Ontario over the past five years, the government is taking a proactive approach to preventing injury. Don’t hire a company that has no training and no insurance. They are working illegally and it could come back to bite you when the Ministry shows up to inspect your work site.
